Challenges this quarter were no match for our co-pilots’ collaborative skills, ingenuity, and work ethic. Through it all, our team continued to pursue creative strategies and brainstorm exceptional solutions, producing praiseworthy successes for our clients. With the end of spring bringing new heat—both in temperature and with client work—we’re excited to take on what lies ahead in Q3.
Before announcing the Q2 winners, here’s a brief recap of what Scratch’s Roger Murdock Awards mean:
Named after the greatest co-pilot of all time from the 1980 motion picture Airplane! (“Roger, Roger”), these awards recognize Scratch’s employees (“co-pilots”) for going above and beyond normal standards—including outstanding performance across both client work and internal Scratch projects.
We faced the same dilemma this quarter as with Q1 of 2021. While we traditionally award just three members of the Scratch team, we struggled to do so given all the remarkable work done over the past few months. So today, we’re proud to commend five extraordinary winners.
Without further ado, let’s celebrate our Q2 winners by offering big congratulations to Matt, Susan, Brooke, Emilie and Claire!
Gold: Matt Toomey, Senior Content Writer
As one of our Senior Content Writers, Matt Toomey has risen above and beyond this quarter to deliver high-quality work across a number of accounts. He has immersed himself into the various complex technologies and his content is consistently impressive. Not only that; it’s clear he cares deeply about the work our clients are doing, and it shows in everything he does at Scratch.
Silver: Susan Oblak, Marketing and Strategy Consultant
There is no one more organized and diligent than Susan. She is constantly thinking ahead, anticipating obstacles, and ensuring we always have the small details figured out—and she excels at setting client expectations and driving the team toward deadlines.
Bronze: Brooke Hanson, Junior Graphic Designer, Emilie Jurion, Account Executive and Claire Cashdan, Account Executive
Brooke is a highly motivated and extremely talented designer whose positivity around learning new things and pushing her designs forward is contagious. She is an excellent addition to the team and a force to be reckoned with.
Emilie’s attention to detail and proactive approach has already made such an impact at Scratch. Thanks to Emilie’s creative thinking, one of our teams is in the process of executing a full-blown PR campaign completely inspired by an idea she brought to the table—which just goes to show what an asset she is to our team.
From the moment Claire joined the PR team at Scratch, she has continued to exceed expectations and prove herself to be a valuable asset. Claire is proactive and driven to empower both her clients and coworkers, and has already secured a handful of opportunities in well-known publications—go Claire!
